City of Allegan Promotions Director, Kelsie King-Duff, has resigned from her position, effective January 25, 2017, to take a position as Main Street Executive Director in Boyne City, Mich. King-Duff has been with the city for just over two years, overseeing the Regent Theatre, Griswold Auditorium, and city promotions including downtown events, farmers market and the city’s non-profit Positively Allegan.
“I will definitely miss Allegan, and what so many great volunteers, supporters and the city have been able to accomplish, but I am also looking forward to the wonderful opportunity I have in Boyne City. My main priority is to help create a smooth transition,” King-Duff, stated.
Some of the major projects taking place currently include planning for the 2017 Positively Allegan event dates, farmers market preparation, a Regent Theatre fundraiser to install cup holders, and working with downtown business owners on planning and developments for the upcoming year.
“There are so many things just on the cusp of happening. I look forward to coming back to visit and seeing the transformation that I believe is so close to taking place,” King-Duff added.
City Manager, Joel Dye, took the reins on January 3. He and King-Duff are working very closely to determine what would be best for the Promotions Director position.
“The city is so appreciative of what Kelsie has been able to develop during her time here, and it is our priority to continue work on many important projects even after her departure. We wish her the very best,” Dye said.
